verb wur·ship
show reverence and adoration for (a deity); to honor.

“But just as your body needs sleep, your soul needs time to rest in God. To learn more about Him. To talk to Him. To worship and praise Him. To fellowship with other brothers and sisters.”—Craig Groeschel

Worship is so very important as the body of Christ. God adores our worship. He can’t stay away when His children say His name. Whether it’s singing you favorite gospel song or thanking Him for waking you up every morning, it’s vital to express your reverence and honor for Him. There is a special bond and connection that is made when children run to their father and sing His praises.

Hebrews 15:13 states that through the fruit of our lips we acknowledge His name. Worshipping is more than just singing and dancing. It is connecting with God. It’s thanking Him and trusting Him when there is nothing else you can do. It is honoring God in the purest form and showing complete admiration. It is sweet surrender. To worship God is to humble yourself before Him and to submit yourself to all that He is. John 4:23 mentions true worshippers worship the Father in spirit and truth. We can sing all day but true worship is when our spirit connects with God. It is when who He is in Heaven meets who He is in us.

Worship should be your response to almost everything and it is far more the songs you sing Sunday mornings. When you receive good news, your first response should be gratefulness to God, which is a form of worship. When disappointment occurs, your response should be worship, not worry. Your response determines your outcome. When you choose to respond with worship rather than fret, your outcome will turn in your favor. Don’t let worship only occur in church. Sing in the car. Dance in your mirror. Thank Him during your lunch break. Tell Him you love Him when bad news occurs. All of this are forms of worship that pleases God.
